How Your Giving Makes a Difference
Yuliya APOLONOVA
Starting in my second year, I have been receiving a scholarship from the Maurer family. It’s very essential help for me. This summer, thanks to this donor support, I even had the means to go to an ecumenical meeting in Taize, France. In my class, several other students receive scholarships and I know that thanks to this financial assistance they are receiving the opportunity to devote more time on their studies and pastoral work, rather than forced to earn money for tuition.
I am fortunate to be a student of the Ukrainian Catholic University.

For several years I had the opportunity to receive a scholarship for academic excellence. This was not only important motivation for further study and deepening my knowledge, but it was also an opportunity to allocate more time to various activities outside the classroom, community organizations, social action, etc.
Studying at UCU really helped the formation of my personality and wider worldview. After finishing UCU, I studied abroad for three years, which became the place for the start of my career, scholarly publications, and the broadening of my academic preparation.

“As Student Council President, I first tested myself in a leadership role: it was my first serious experience in directing others. I think that our achievement was that we supported different student initiatives and helped realized them. Besides that, we tried to work together with the student bodies of different Lviv universities. “
